Million Dollar Traders followed a group of twelve wannabe traders dealing in shares during the events of the financial crisis of 2007-2009 which was then whittled down to the final eight. The contestants came from various backgrounds, including a fight promoter, a day trader, an IT/banking recruitment consultant, a working mother, a retired IT engineer and a student, among others. During the series van Dam gave the London-based contestants the sterling equivalent of $1 million of his own money to trade for 2 months. Former professional trader Anton Kreil, was appointed as the manager of the group.

Do not be a stranger in your own country.
It really feels strange for my case where I was able to go to various places in Japan while I haven't visited many places within my own country. My decision to visit Mindanao, the only place among the three main geographical divisions of the Philippines I haven't visited, on my vacation was sudden but I have been thinking of visiting Mindanao before.

At the start of 2013 I had to make a decision that will affect my career. Decide to take a project which will let me stay in Japan a little more but in a far prefecture from my current place or refuse to take the project and go back to Manila. It was among the longest nights of my life in Japan. I was not able to sleep well.
